"...as good as the real thing..."
- San Antonio Express-News 2-19-12

From KUT 90.5 FM, live from the new Studio 1a on
Music with Jay Trachtenburg on September 26, 2012
with Dr. James Polk on piano, Glenn Schuetz on bass
and Terrence McDaniel on drums 9-26-12

And from their website, KUT.org:
When Austin trumpeter, composer and bandleader Jeff Lofton is brought up for discussion, it’s not long before you hear comparisons to Miles Davis. It’s easy to see why: Lofton’s skill is astounding, he’s a jazz musician, and he plays the trumpet. Miles Davis is the touchstone for all of the above. But that’s not to say that the comparisons are unwarranted, because as said before: his skill is astounding. Jeff Lofton invites those comparisons on Saturday, with a 1950s Miles Davis tribute show at the Scottish Rite Theater. Jeff Lofton joined us in Studio 1a and you can hear his entire set RIGHT HERE! Click here to listen to a podcast of the entire live on-air performance.

Jeff Lofton blows Miles Davis Tribute"
by Jim Caligiuri - Austin Chronicle 9-26-12
“It’s hardly news that jazz remains the redheaded stepchild of Austin’s music scene. Talking to local trumpeter Jeff Lofton, one harbors hope that might change. ….”

JEFF LOFTON'S JAZZ TO THE PEOPLE

Austin Chronicle Top 9 Austin Albums of 2009

KUT Top 10 Albums of 2009: DJ Picks

Available at Amazon.com, iTunes or CDBaby.com, or, in Austin at independent record stores

with nine original compositions by Jeff Lofton and interpretations of "Georgia" and "Crazy"

"... hits the bull's-eye on this sterling local debut that digs a deep groove ... crafted a sound largely around Davis' formative quintet of the late 1950s ... embraces the blues and swings passionately ... reinforces the Miles connection with the deft use of muted trumpet on soulful strutters ... blows reminiscent of Lee Morgan's Blue Note hits of the mid-1960s ... a delightfully swingin' affair." ~ Jay Trachtenberg, The Austin Chronicle, Texas Platters, Music Review

The CD includes Alex Coke on sax, Red Young on piano, Chris Jones on bass and Masumi Jones on drums, and features Danielle Howle on "Crazy."
